Katemba stands out among Ugandan swimmers as she’s had the advantage of competing and gaining valuable experiences within her age category, which has been a significant benefit to her.
She is set to re-enter the international swimming arena at the World Junior Swimming Championships in Netanya, Israel, taking place from September 4th to September 9th
The young swimmer, aged 15, from the Aquatic Academy, had her inaugural experience in Budapest, Hungary, participating in an open water competition held at Lupa Beach. Although she completed her race, her finishing time exceeded the permitted limit.
However, the swimmer has an opportunity for redemption in Netanya, as she prepares for her first international appearance in a pool setting.
She is set to compete in the 50m and 100m freestyle races, along with the 50m backstroke event. “I have chosen three events that Iam excited about and Iam ready to be better my times in them, ” said the swimmer.
“I definitely expect to find stiff competition but Iam Excited to be one of those chosen to represent my country in the competition “
